Leah Jane
Leah Jane is a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Brooklyn, New York. Born in the UK and raised in Aotearoa (New Zealand), Leah’s family tree and creative practice spans continents.
Leah recently graduated from the New School’s College of Performing Arts (NYC) with a Masters of Arts Management and Entrepreneurship. In April 2025, Leah self-published her first book Meditations for Musicians, a musical guidebook that centres creative confidence and joy in musical practice. Leah is currently working towards a Professional Studies Diploma at the Mannes School of Music with her mentor, Grammy-nominated composer, Mary Kouyoumdjian.

Leah Jane is a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Brooklyn, New York. Born in the UK and raised in Aotearoa (New Zealand), Leah’s family tree and creative practice spans continents.
Leah recently graduated from the New School’s College of Performing Arts (NYC) with a Masters of Arts Management and Entrepreneurship. In April 2025, Leah self-published her first book Meditations for Musicians, a musical guidebook that centres creative confidence and joy in musical practice. Leah attended Te Kōkī, the New Zealand School of Music, and graduated with a first class honours Bachelors degree in classical performance on clarinet. Leah also has a background in law, she attended the Victoria University of Wellington’s school of law. She has experience in radio hosting, presenting part-time with RNZ Concert in 2023.
Leah is an active self-producer and event organiser. She produced live music series Pōneke Sessions at Bedlam and Squalor, Gallery Orchestra and curated the Classical on Cuba festival in 2022.
As a composer, Leah works with live electronics, film, chamber ensembles, soloists and orchestras. Her most recent commission was for the Astra Collective (NYC) who performed her work “moon, earth, and back” at the Mercury Lounge in January 2026. Leah is inspired by the natural world, the space she finds in silence and her friends.
